ThereÕs been a great debate over the years as to whether energy drinks are beneficial for you or not. On the one hand they can provide you with a boost as intended with the caffeine. However, many of them are loaded with sugar! Rockstar Xdurance has 69g of sugar! This sugar may help boost energy but itÕll also cause that nasty ÒcrashÓ a few hours later! LetÕs not forget to mention how research shows links between diseases (such as diabetes) and excessive sugar intake. (69g is excessive!)
DonÕt get us wrong; some energy drinks can be beneficial. If youÕre looking for a quality product, look for something with around 100-150mg of caffeine per serving (and keep it to less than 400mg/day). Also, keep the sugars low (ideally less than 10mg of sugar if any at all) and avoid synthetic ingredients (if you canÕt pronounce it, you probably donÕt need it).
In addition, if youÕre looking for a better way to kick that energy drink habit, we can teach you how to fuel your body properly to get all the energy your body needs from food sources as fuel!
